Four-Year-Old Preschool APS and the Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI)

The VPI program is for children who are 4-years-old on or before September 30. Families must meet income guidelines as described below. The program will run on the school schedule, Monday through Friday.

Registration

VPI Application forms may be submitted between February 1 and April 15 by 4 p.m. A lottery will be conducted if there are more applications than available spaces. Applications received after the lottery has been conducted will be placed on a wailist.

Eligibility Requirements

Child must be 4 years of age on or before September 30
Child must reside in the school's attendance area
Families must meet income eligibility requirements (2009 VPI Income Eligibility Application )
To be eligible family income must be below $82,161
16 students in a classroom

Transportation

Children who live within the attendance zone of the school can ride the bus.
