Arlington Distance Learning Program
Arlington Public Schools Distance Learning Program began offering one locally produced course in 1993. Today, APS Distance Learning supports 24 classes, providing a combination of locally produced classes taught by master teachers from Arlington and completely online courses provided by other national organizations. The Distance Learning Program supports initiatives and curricula that offer students, staff and community the opportunity to participate in courses and virtual fieldtrips. The Distance Learning Program also supports schools, teachers, students and their families, and the Department of Instruction with the implementation of Blackboard Learn, our online course, content, and community management system.
The Distance Learning Production Specialist manages and coordinates the distance learning program including, training electronic classroom teachers, electronic classroom specialists, and provides instructional support and resources for distance learning classes.
