  • APS On-Time Graduation Rate for the Class of 2015 Rises to 92.8 Percent

    • Graduation Rate for the Three Comprehensive High Schools at 98.5%
    • 4.2% Point Increase in Advanced Diplomas Among 2015 APS Graduates
    • Percentage of APS Grads Earning Advance Diplomas 17 Points Higher Than the State Average
    • 91% Plan to Attend a 2- or 4-Year College

    Graduation rates for Arlington’s Class of 2015 increased to 92.8% for all APS students, up 8.1 percentage points from 84.5% in 2009. The increases in the On-Time Graduation Rate and the proportions of graduates earning advanced diplomas is notable given the more strenuous requirements for earning a diploma in Virginia. (More)

  • Blue Ribbon Schools Logo Patrick Henry Elementary School Named 2015 Blue Ribbon School

    Today, Patrick Henry Elementary School was named a 2015 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education based on its overall academic excellence. Henry is one of 335 schools nationwide and one of only seven public schools in Virginia to receive this prestigious honor. Henry is the only public school in Northern Virginia designated as a Blue Ribbon School this year. (More)

  • APS Seeks Feedback on Personal Learning Device Handbook
    APS developed a handbook to address parent and staff questions regarding the personalized learning initiative. Please take a moment to read over the draft and provide your comments so that we can be sure we are addressing the needs of our stakeholders. Staff will bring the feedback to the Digital Learning Steering Committee and make appropriate amendments  to the handbook.  A final version will be posted on October 31, 2015.  Click here to provide your feedback.
