STEM Overview

S.T.E.M stands for Science, Technology,Engineering, and Math. This is Hoffman-Boston's fourth year of having a school-wide STEM focus. On a regular basis, students will engage in hands-on activities that lead to learning by discovery. Many of these hands-on activities will include engineering design challenges.  Through the Digital Learning Initiative, our students in grades two through five, will be utilizing iPads to enhance their STEM learning.

Engineering Design Process:

· understanding the problem

· brainstorming a solution

· creating a prototype

· testing for the criteria

· evaluating the prototype
