APS Announces Make-up Day Plan

Because Arlington Public Schools has lost three days in the 2012-13 school year due to inclement weather, the following is the makeup schedule:

Elementary Schools With Early Release* and the Stratford Program

Elementary Schools with Early Release will have full instructional days on the three Wednesdays and the Stratford Program on the three Tuesdays listed below to make up the day lost on Mon, Jan. 28. Please note that Oct. 29 and 30, 2012 do not have to be made up because of additional instructional hours beyond the 990 minimum equivalent hours required by the State were built into the 2012-13 calendar.

Elementary Schools with Limited Early Release**, Middle Schools and High Schools

Because of the additional instructional hours that were built into the 2012-13 calendar beyond the 990 minimum equivalent hours required by the State, the three instructional days lost this year (Oct. 29, Oct. 30 and Jan. 28) do not have to be made up.

*Elementary Schools With Early Release include Arlington Science Focus, Arlington Traditional, Long Branch, Nottingham, Oakridge, Taylor and Tuckahoe.

**Elementary Schools with LimitedEarly Release include Abingdon, Ashlawn, Barcroft, Barrett, Campbell, CarlinSprings, Claremont, Drew, Glebe, Henry, Hoffman-Boston, Jamestown, Key,McKinley and Randolph.
