2013-2014 School Year
The second grade students looked at and discussed artwork by George Iness, Winslow Homer and Vincent Van Gogh. They drew a picture of their favorite tree.
Lesson adapted from Davis Explorations in Art grade 2 curriculum, Unit 1, Lesson 1,Nature’s Beauty: looking and Seeing/ Remembering Nature Trees as a subject matter.
We looked at artwork made by Gustav Klimt. The students painted their own version of the” Tree of Life” and then use oil pastels to make different type of patterns.

The students created a collage of cut- paper shapes and added details to show the fecade of a bulding that has a specifc function.
Second graders created a clay slab and added patterns and textures. They also experimented with patterns and textures by making shoe prints on clay.
