The second grade students looked at and discussed artwork by George Iness, Winslow Homer and Vincent Van Gogh. They drew a picture of their favorite tree.

We looked at artwork made by Gustav Klimt. The students painted their own version of the” Tree of Life” and then use oil pastels to make different type of patterns.
The students looked at the “Sunflowers” painting by Gustav Klimt and created their own interpretation of a garden. The students mixed primary colors on wet paper and used a thin black marker for the outline.

Second graders created a clay slab and added patterns and textures. They also experimented with patterns and textures by making shoe prints on clay.
