Principal's Corner

Welcome to Wakefield High School!

I am glad that you are taking time to explore our website to learn more about our incredible school.  As a school community, we place a great deal of importance on “the Wakefield Way”- frequently referred to as the “5 Rs” (Rigor, Relationships, Resiliency, Responsibility, and Results).  We believe that focusing on these areas helps us graduate students who are prepared to succeed in college, career, and life.  A recent graduate observed:

One thing that has really stuck with me since coming to Wakefield my freshman year is our five pillars: Rigor, Relationships, Resilience, Responsibility, and Results. I feel as though Wakefield and the way our community stands by our five pillars has positively and successfully contributed to the man I've grown in to. The five pillars have been exemplified by most of the teachers I've had here. They've shown me that with the right support system, a student’s personal expectation automatically rises. With the confidence, humility, and ability to stay composed, all skills I've gained from attending Wakefield and following the five pillars, I am certain that I will be a successful college student, and will venture into a career path that greatly benefits me and the people around me.

From our state-of-the-art building, to our diverse student body, our award-winning fine and performing arts groups, our championship athletic teams, and our nationally recognized Senior Project, Wakefield strives to create an environment of excellence that is supportive, welcoming, accepting, and encouraging.

A member of the Class of 2015 wrote, “What I discovered is that Wakefield is NOT a building. Wakefield is an almost indescribable essence. Once you are a Warrior, you become part of a family that is unlike any other.”

I hope that as you explore our website and learn about our school, you begin to see what makes Wakefield such a great school, one that we are truly proud of.
