Grade Portal

The Student Information Center which allows parents and guardians to access student schedules, attendance information, discipline information and transcripts went online in November.

APS Grades Online  - As we begin the 2nd semester your family will have access to online progress reports.  In order to gain this access, you will need a pass code that is contained in a letter from Frank that TAs made available to students last week.  If you have not seen this hand-delivered letter, please ask your student.  We can always make a copy if needed—just let us know. Contact Vanessa Piccorossi at 703-228-6351 if you are having difficulty with your login or password.

You might recall the discussion our community had in November about online grades access.  The letter that provides guidelines on handling this new tool is printed below.

Help with the Grade Portal - Here is a short one minute video that shows students and parents how to access their grades online.
The video assumes the student and parents have activated their account. Here is a link to instructions for parents and students who have not activated their account.

Go to the Parent Access Center webpage for more information about these and other communication services provided by APS.

Letter to H-B Woodlawn Parent Community regarding these services

January 2012

Dear H-B Woodlawn parent community,

As you are probably aware, the county has mandated that all grades and attendance will be available online.  You will receive a password to access your student’s grades online.  The student body believes that online grades can be a useful tool.

HB Woodlawn is about trust, and the student community trusts that you will make appropriate use of this technology.  However, we also expect that you will give us the same trust in return.  We expect that the passwords will be shared between students and parents.  If you have a problem with your student’s grades or attendance, we expect that you will work together with the student to solve the problem.

We ask that you remember why you decided to send your kid to HB Woodlawn.  Presumably, you felt that the trusting environment was appropriate for your student.  We hope that you remember this reason now, and that we can work together to use the new system appropriately.

Sincerely,

The HB Woodlawn students
