Washington-Lee Students Help to Improve Energy Efficiency of 17 Arlington Familie
This week’s episode of Green Scene highlights the award-winning Arlington Energy Masters program and follows four Washington-Lee High School students as they help to improve the energy efficiency and water conservation efforts in the homes of 17 families living in the affordable housing community at Virginia Gardens.
Arlington Energy Masters is a partnership between Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, Virginia Cooperative Extension, and Arlington Thrive that promotes a more energy efficient and sustainable community by engaging professionally trained volunteers in energy efficiency and water conservation techniques, and in delivering community education and outreach programs. Over the past four years, Energy Masters volunteers made such improvements and helped to increase the comfort in the homes of 474 families at living in affordable housing developments in Arlington.
