    ProjectCSGIRLS
    Congratulations to 7th grader Sophia W. for being selected as a ProjectCSGirls finalist. ProjectCSGIRLS is a competition designed to challenge girls to actively use computer science and technology to develop a solution to an imminent social problem. Special thanks to Ms. Molina who mentored Sophia.
     
    Investwrite Essay Contest
    Congratulations to 6th grader Kareena S. who won the State Investwrite Essay contest. She will be attending the State Awards Luncheon at the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia on May 15.

  • Gunston Students Shine in the APS Annual Technology Exposition
     
     Tech Expo
     
    Seven of  Ms. Winkey’s 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students participated in Arlington’s 2015 Annual Technology Exposition on May 9th. This was the second year that the middle schools participated and the first year for Gunston. Nearly 150 students from APS middle and high schools participated, and Gunston rocked with four winners in two categories. Gunston was the only school to participate in the Game Design competition and the only middle school to participate in the Robotics competition. The monetary winners in Game Design were Isaac D. (1st Place) and Luka M. (2nd Place). The monetary winners in Robotics were Daniel O. and Reese C. (3rd Place). Other GMS students who received certificates and raffle gifts were Atashi B., Faith A., Marwan M., and Matthew N.
