Comprehensive School Health Committee

Comprehensive School Health Committee

The purpose of the committee is to develop a coordinated school health program that addresses the mental, emotional and physical well being of Arlington Public Schools students and staff. The Arlington Comprehensive School Health Committee is comprised of parents, representatives from the Arlington Public Schools’ Department of Student Services, Health and Physical Education Office, Food Services Office, Extended Day Program, Arlington County School Health Bureau, Employee Assistance Program, Partnership for Children Youth and Families, and Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources (PRCR).

The Comprehensive School Health Committee works under the guidance of the School Health Advisory Board (SHAB). The SHAB is a state mandated committee established to assist in the development of health policies in the APS and the evaluation of the status of school health, health education, the school environment and health services.

This web site provides resources and information that promotes healthier lifestyles for Arlington Public Schools’ staff, students, and their families.
