APS to Hold Data Meeting on Elementary Boundaries
Attendees Encouraged to Bring Wireless Tablets or Laptops
APS reminds families that they are invited to a data study meeting for boundary options for the new elementary school 1 at the Williamsburg site at 7 p.m. on Mon, Nov. 26. The meeting will be held in the Williamsburg Middle School auditorium (3600 N. Harrison St.).
Staff will present relevant data including enrollment history, enrollment projections, planning unit data, planning unit maps and other information to help ensure all interested stakeholders are well informed about the data points that will go into the final boundary decisions for the new elementary school to be built on the Williamsburg site.
During the meeting, APS will be testing a newly-developed interactive, online boundary options tool and will be seeking feedback from the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring personal laptops, iPads or other wireless tablet devices to the meeting. APS will have some devices available at the meeting for attendees to use.
The new data tool will allow individuals to consider various boundary options for the new school. The online tool will allow individuals to move different planning units and explore options to address crowding in neighboring schools by creating possible boundaries that work for the new school on the Williamsburg site.
