Community Service Club Collects Glasses for New Eyes for the Needy
The eight-member Community Service Club at Randolph Elementary School in Arlington, VA, recently hosted a collection drive to support the international eyeglass recycling program at New Eyes for the Needy, located in Short Hills, NJ. The students collected 33 pairs of eyeglasses, 14 pairs of sunglasses, four pairs of lenses and 20 eyeglass cases during the drive. The students decorated two boxes to collect donations, made signs, publicized the drive on Randolph Elementary’s TV news program and sent fliers home to families asking for their donations.
