DESCRIPTION:
This course of study includes study of our universe, basic space maneuvering, and the various elements of the space program and related hardware. Also included are propulsion systems, international space programs and space technology. Drill and leadership are included as an integral part of the program with an emphasis on leadership and management of the Cadet Corps. AFJROTC III and IV students fill leadership positions in the cadet organization and are responsible for a large portion of cadet activities. Cadets also are instructed in the basics of budgeting and financial management, job search techniques and career opportunities after high school. Students participate in drill teams, field trips, parades, Color Guards, and other program activities. Enrollment in AFJROTC does not obligate a student to any military service; instead, completion of two years of the program (including AFJROTC III and IV) may entitle the student to advanced rank upon completion of basic training after enlistment, or extra consideration when applying for AFJROTC scholarships at colleges, and/or nomination to the service academies.
