Yes! We have eBooks. Work with them on a computer or with a downloadable app for your mobile device. They work on most platforms. We have TWO collections of e-books-- MackinVIA and Follett Shelf . Mackin is the collection we are promoting more heavily in the Middle School, and Follett is the collection we are promoting as students move on into our High School. It is worth checking both of them for titles of interest. Both contain audiobooks. Check back frequently, as available titles may change. For more info ...
Ebooks stay checked out for 21 days, although you can return a book early.
Students may check out up to 5 books at a time. Staff may check out up to 10 books at a time, depending on which product you use.
You cannot renew a book, but you can re-check it out if it "expires."
You *can* and should return a book early if you finish it before the due-date.
FIRST TIME users:
Go the the library's catalog at Follett and perform a login using the "Login" button on the top right of the screen.
Students, apply your "one login."
Staff, use Arlington County ID number as their username (no extra zeros) and hbwoodlawn as the password.
Next, for i-Pads and mobile devices, you need to download and access the appropriate app for the collection:
The MackinVIA app takes you into the Mackin Collection. You will be asked for the name of the school: H B Woodlawn. (There are spaces needed between the h and b and w.) It will pop into the drop-down menu for you to select it. Then continue with your "one login" as username and password.
The BryteWave app is used to go into the Follett Shelf collection. You will be asked for the name of the school: H-B Woodlawn. (There is a hypen needed between the h and b, and a space follows the B.) Then continue with your "one login."
The following tips are important for achieving your login and registration each time you return.
Choose a collection that you want to investigate:
Follett Shelf (accessible via the online catalog or the BryteWave app) or the catalog link. This is the collection we are promoting more heavily in the High School.
For Follett Shelf: Students use their Student ID as their username and their regular password (StudentVue) as their password. (Staff, review password advice under "getting started" above.) On the left side of the catalog menu, simply click on "Follett Shelf" to access the e-books. If you are prompted for a school name, use H-B Woodlawn. (There is a hypen needed between the H and B, and a space before the W.) Then continue with your "one login."
