NES Construction on WMS Campus

  • NES Groundbreaking Featured on APS Snapshots

Posted by Hae-Lee Solomon at 3/22/2014
In this week's episode of Snapshots, Superintendent Dr. Pat Murphy talks with future parents and students of the new elementary school at Williamsburg during the groundbreaking ceremony on March 19. The new school is anticipated to be the first Net Zero Energy School on the East Coast. This means that the building is designed to produce as much or more energy than it will use during the course of a year. The 98,000 square foot, two-story elementary school will have capacity for approximately 630 prek-grade 5 students.

  • New walking patterns

Posted by Hae-Lee Solomon at 3/11/2014
There will be a change to our walking patterns once the construction site is up and running. This change will happen around March 14-17, depending on the weather and the contractor’s schedule. In the attached map, you will notice the red line – this indicates the new walking pattern. Students who walk to Williamsburg on 36th Street will need to cross at the intersection of N. Kensington and the south side of 36th Street and follow the sidewalk to the intersection of 36th Street and N. Harrison. Students will need to walk the full perimeter of the Williamsburg campus to gain access to the entrances.
