APS Division-Wide Comprehensive Plan

The Arlington Public Schools Division-Wide Comprehensive Plan meets the requirement under Standard 6 of the Standards of Quality for Public Schools in Virginia. The purpose of the plan is to provide a platform for communicating major division-wide initiatives and operational plans.  The current plan consists of several planning documents including, but not limited to, the 2024-30 APS Strategic Plan, FY 25-34 Capital Improvement Plan, 2023 Educational Technology Plan, 2023-30 Literacy Plan, School Action Plans and Department Action Plans.

A report on the progress made is prepared and disseminated as part of the division-wide continuous improvement cycle. Every two years, an updated Division-Wide Comprehensive Plan builds on the previous plan and outlines the work that is necessary to accomplish long-term priorities.

The School Board’s mission, vision, core values and strategic plan form the foundation for division-wide planning. To develop each component of the Division-Wide Comprehensive Plan, the system continuously solicits and incorporates suggestions from a broad range of parent advisory groups, community members, and school division employees.
