Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education Advisory Committee focuses on issues specific to pre-school through grade two.

Join parents, community members, and the Coordinator of Early Childhood Programs one evening each month! Help to advise the APS School Board on instructional issues that affect Early Childhood Education,Pre-K through Grade 2. Explore issues that affect the education of young children:

  • Kindergarten readiness
  • Early literacy and mathematical thinking
  • Home and school communication
  • Social interaction
  • Developmentally Appropriate Practices

Learn about the Arlington Public Schools and specific programs

  • Virginia Preschool Initiative Program
  • Community Peer Programs
  • Montessori Preschool

Monthly committee meetings are from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Syphax Education Center, 2110 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA.  Please check dates to the right of this page.
