Athletes, ages 18+, who are interested in discovering the sport of water polo! Also, a great opportunity for intermediate players to build experience with the game’s core skills. Sessions will focus on fundamentals, individual skills, attack/defensive strategies, and overall enjoyment of the sport!

Arlington Water Polo practices Friday & Saturday nights at Washington-Lee Aquatics Center. Events consist of drop-in scrimmages. Beginners welcome!
Participants fulfill requirements to receive Lifeguard certification. Course eligibility requires completion of pre-course fitness test, including a 300 yard continuous swim, treading water for 2 minutes using on the legs, and retrieving a 10lb brick from a depth of 7 to 10 feet.
Build cardiovascular and anaerobic endurance needed to participate in a variety of aquatics activities. Sessions include various activities, games, and exercises introducing participants to a wide variety of aquatics training methods.
New in 2017, Wakefield Aquatics Center will offer a Youth Water Polo Clinic! The Youth Water Polo clinic is open to participants, ages 14 – 18, interested in discovering the sport of water polo. Each weekly session will introduce athletes to the game’s core rules, fundamental techniques, and encourage overall enjoyment of the sport through skills drills, scrimmages, and other related games. Participants must be able to complete four laps, unassisted and tread water for 1 minute without using their hands. Evaluations will be completed on the first day of the clinic.

Bring your friends and learn how to optimize your aqua jogging workouts! Our Senior Water Jogging Clinic includes a guided social workout, while providing tips and pointers on the basics of this low impact, cardiovascular exercise. Participants must be 62+, but can drop-in anytime!

Through Aquatics concentrates on overall fitness using the water to enhance your everyday workout. Sessions include a variety of plyometric, strength, anaerobic, and endurance exercises designed to increase the fitness for everyone, from the exercise beginner to seasoned athletes. Each session is drop-in and participants pay as they go.
Also new for 2017, Wakefield will offer a Youth Sprint Clinic. This clinic is open to participants, ages 11 – 18, interested in fine tuning skills often overlooked in competitive swimming programs. Each session will focus on effective starts, smooth & efficient turns, and mental toughness needed for a short distance sprint. The Youth Sprint Clinic is ideal for high school and summer swimmers looking to keep their skills sharp in the off-season.
