High School Work-Based Learning
High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) is comprised of school-coordinated workplace experiences that are:
- related to students’ career goals and/or interests,
- integrated with instruction, and
- performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
There are 12 Work-based Learning experiences defined by the Virginia Department of Education. They include: Job Shadowing, Service Learning, Externship, School-based Enterprise, Mentorship, Internship, Entrepreneurship, Cooperative Education, SAE, Clinical Experience, Youth Registered Apprenticeships, and Registered Apprenticeships.
High School - Externship, Internship and other Work-based Learning
9 - 12th Graders
This program is designed for students interested in a career in Cybersecurity. Successful completion of this program is considered a Work-based Learning experience.
10th Graders
Application Deadline is Monday, September 23, 2024 at 5pm
12th Graders
Urban Alliance has Extended the deadline for Application. If you are interested in an internship during your senior year, apply NOW. The application will close as soon as all slots have been filled.
