Updated Nov. 13: Community Questionnaire on Superintendent’s Draft Calendar for the 2019-20 School Year
We want to apologize to staff and families for the errors in last week’s calendar questionnaire. We wanted to let you know that we have addressed the technical issues that were identified in the questionnaire posted last week. As a result, it now has been re-posted online and outlines in more detail the differences between the two options being considered for the 2019-20 school year. We also have extended the deadline to Monday, Nov. 26.
This year, two draft calendar preferences (Calendar I and Calendar II) have been prepared for review and input.
The differences with each options are:
- Option 1 (pdf): Columbus Day (Oct. 14) is a holiday for students and a professional learning day for APS staff. In this option, 12-month employees will have Dec. 26 as a holiday in lieu of Columbus Day (Oct. 14).
- Option 2 (pdf): Columbus Day (Oct. 14) is a holiday for students and staff.Mon, Oct. 7 will serve as the professional learning day for all APS staff. In this option, students would be off on both Mon, Oct. 7 and Mon, Oct. 14 and 12-month staff would report on Dec. 26.
