When am I eligible to register for Extended Day?

The Extended Day registration process is conducted in four phases. During the appropriate phase, families must submit registration information online to the Extended Day Central Office. Subsequently, families will receive notification that each child has been enrolled or placed on a waitlist.

Families must meet the following criteria to register and be enrolled for the Extended Day Program

parents/guardians must be employed, in school, or incapacitated
family accounts cannot have a past due balance
students must be registered for Arlington Public Schools and have a valid student ID #
students must be four years old by September 30 of the school year they are submitting registration

Failure to meet the registration and enrollment criteria, and to pay registration fees by the given deadline, will result in your registration being rejected or enrollment being removed.

QUESTION 1. Do you want to register for the before school session only?

Yes, I want to register for the before-school session only. I do not want to register for an after-school session.

Families choosing to register for the before-school session only should submit their registration during Phase 3.
Students registered for the before-school session are guaranteed enrollment in the morning, and will not be placed on a waitlist for the before-school session.

APS employees choosing to register students for the Early Release Only and/or 1-Day Per Week session should submit their registration during Phase 3 or Phase 4.
Children of APS employees registered for the Early Release Only and/or 1-Day Per Week sessions will not be placed on a waitlist.
