Superintendent’s Advisory Committee on Technology

The Superintendent’s Advisory Committee on Technology is appointed by and reports to the Superintendent of the Arlington Public Schools. Parents and community members provide guidance to the school system in the use of technology to meet the goal of the APS strategic plan. More specifically the committee:

  • Provides advice on Risks, Mitigations and Opportunities related to the Information Services Core Services. The committee provides this advice from three perspectives:
    • As parents and community members
    • As professionals
    • As representatives of stakeholder groups
  • Serves as a liaison to parent and community groups on the IS Core Services and APS technology related initiatives.
  • Works with the Arlington Council on Instruction to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to support the APS instructional program.
  • Provides an annual report to the Superintendent with accomplishments and recommendations

The committee meets monthly from September through May from 7-9 PM in Room 201A of the Arlington Education Center. 1426 N Quincy St, Arlington, VA 22207. Meetings are typically on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
