The new school year is around the corner. Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán shares a few key points to keep in mind as you prepare for your student’s start of the school year.
Arlington Public Schools (APS) is preparing for the start of the Annual Online Verification Process (AOVP) for the 2020-21 school year. The AOVP window for this school year begins on August 31, 2020 and extends through October 30, 2020.
School begins remotely in distance learning for all students two weeks from today, on September 8. APS teachers and staff are all back virtually to make final preparations for students – making sure every student has a device and connectivity, finalizing class schedules, engaging in training for distance learning, and working to create online classroom environments and learning experiences that are safe, inclusive, and engaging.
Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán updated the School Board on plans to return to school in the Fall at the Aug. 20 meeting.
Families are now able to drop off registration documents in-person at all schools and the APS Welcome Center to register students new to APS.
On Wed, Aug. 19, the Arlington Special Education PTA (SEPTA) held a virtual town hall with Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán on distance learning instruction.
School starts three weeks from today, and we are excited to welcome all students back for distance learning on Tuesday, September 8. Our teachers and other 10-month employees are returning virtually next week to engage in professional learning and make final preparations.
