ASFS Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Launch of New Investigation Station

Arlington Science Focus School Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Launch Of New Investigation Station Arlington Science Focus School (ASFS) will celebrate its 20th year of innovating education with a ribbon cutting for its science and learning lab, Investigation Station, at 4 p.m. on June 6. The state-of-the-art lab was funded entirely by parents, businesses and community members through a process that was facilitated by online fundraising platform, EdBacker and a crowdsourced design platform Arcbazar. Since May 2014, the ASFS PTA has raised $175,000 in capital campaign funds to design and bring to life a discovery space that will function as a centerpiece of the school, where students in grades K-5 will be able to explore the natural world with the aid of hands-on learning tools and cutting-edge technology. This parent led initiative was able to expedite the project’s timeline from vision through creation, allowing students to begin taking advantage of their parents’ efforts within the span of only one year. Arlington Public Schools supported the joint public/private efforts to see this project come to fruition. About EdBacker, Inc.
