At Thursday’s School Board meeting, staff presented updates on capital projects and proposed changes to the Dorothy Hamm Middle School and The Heights Building construction project funding. Both schools were completed on time to welcome students for the start of the 2019-20 school year and require additional funding for project completion.

Last November, you may recall that APS partnered with third-party vaccine provider, Healthy Schools (CareDox), to offer students free flu shots in our schools during the school day. We had plans to continue this offering for students this year; however, the provider notified us they are no longer able to provide this service in our area due to a restructuring of the company. We regret that we are not able to provide this service this year, and we are currently exploring new partners to work with us in the future.
