Each month, APS recognizes outstanding staff who go above and beyond in support of our students, families and school communities. The April APS All Stars represent the very best of what it means to lead with heart, integrity and commitment.

Susan Cleary

Discovery Elementary School

Susan Cleary is an essential member of the Special Education team at Discovery, known for her ability to be everywhere at once and help students across all grade levels. She has played a key role in the schoolwide implementation of the Zones of Regulation, offering students tools to manage emotions and thrive. Her expertise and insight support not only individual students but the entire learning community. Discovery is lucky to have her.


Anna Barba

Arlington Traditional School

Anna Barba is a dedicated English learner teacher who supports student growth through consistent, focused instruction and genuine care. She is always willing to help others, even with a full plate, and her tireless efforts have made a real impact on both students and staff. Her dependability and heart make her a true asset to the Arlington Traditional community.


Dawn Scattolini

Kenmore Middle School

Dawn Scattolini brings Kenmore’s theater program to life with creativity, vision and a deep commitment to student voice. She unites students of all backgrounds and abilities to produce high-caliber shows that build confidence and community. Her guidance transforms middle schoolers into performers, leaders and collaborators, enriching their school experience in powerful ways.


Erin Wales-Smith

Claremont Elementary School

Erin Wales-Smith is a trusted advocate and leader, especially in supporting students with special needs and bilingual learners. She brings clarity and compassion to every interaction, helps staff navigate complex processes and strengthens family partnerships. Her dedication and humor keep Claremont running smoothly and make her an irreplaceable member of the team.


Alexandra Davis

Drew Elementary School

Alexandra Davis joined Drew in early 2024 and quickly became a guiding force in supporting English learners. Her experience and collaborative spirit have elevated the EL team and built strong connections across the school. With a consistent positive attitude and a deep commitment to student success, Ms. Davis is already making a lasting impact.

The School Board is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 school year and invites community members, including parents/guardians, students, staff, subject-matter experts, and other interested individuals, to apply to serve on a School Board advisory group.

At its May 15 meeting, the Arlington School Board adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 budget totaling $844.6 million.
