Nicole Boatwright – Arlington Career Center
Dedicated, Supportive, Dependable, Responsible, Compass
Ms. Boatwright has demonstrated exceptional leadership and care at the Alternatives for Parenting Teens Infant Center. When a colleague was out for an extended time, she ensured the center maintained its high-quality support for teen parents and their children. She also supervised Early Childhood interns, upheld compliance with VA DOE and DHS childcare mandates, and managed the center’s Reading Is Fundamental program, earning recognition for her efforts. Nicole further took on transportation coordination for teen parents, ensuring they could attend school on time. Her compassion and unwavering dedication make her a standout in our community.
Jennifer Gildea – Fleet Elementary School
Compassionate, Inspiring, Diplomatic, Patient, Noble
Principal Gildea’s thoughtful leadership inspires trust and collaboration at Fleet Elementary. She supports her staff, students, and families with respect, integrity, and compassion. Her ability to ease stressors, foster professional confidence, and strengthen community ties highlights her remarkable leadership. Whether navigating new challenges or supporting a colleague in need, Principal Gildea’s intentional decisions and collaborative approach embody what it means to be an APS All Star.
Hope Lambert – H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program
Passionate, Selfless, Supportive, Kind, Advocate
Ms. Lambert leads H-B Woodlawn’s Theatre Department with passion and dedication, creating opportunities for every student to explore their creativity. From middle school classes to advanced productions, she works tirelessly to mentor students and help them discover their unique voices. This year, Ms. Lambert secured a grant to co-produce a play with HBW and Shriver students, further promoting inclusivity and collaboration. Her work ethic, passion, and ability to connect with students make her an integral part of the HBW community.
Tamara LaMantia – Glebe Elementary School
Dedicated, Supportive, Skilled, Hard-Working, Busy
Ms. LaMantia is a tireless advocate for literacy, working closely with students and teachers to build strong reading skills. Her small group instruction and dedication to promoting a love of learning inspire both students and colleagues alike. Her commitment to fostering literacy and collaboration with staff make her a valued member of the Glebe community.
Jose Castro – Jamestown Elementary School
Funny, Flexible, Patient, Organized, Magnifico
Mr. Castro is the backbone of Jamestown, keeping the school running smoothly as maintenance supervisor. Always ready to assist, he fills last-minute requests with a smile and brings humor and positivity to every task. Students love interacting with Mr. Castro, and many look up to him as a trusted role model. His dedication, warmth and reliability make Jamestown a better place for everyone.
