The School Board has extended the speaker sign-up period for the Public Hearing on Elementary Boundaries scheduled for Tue, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The speaker request form will be active until 1 p.m. on Mon, Nov. 30. To sign up to speak at the Public Hearing, visit https://www.apsva.us/school-board-meetings/sign-up-to-speak/.
The public hearing will be held virtually, with both in-person and call-in speakers. Each speaker will have up to 2 minutes to comment. The meeting will be streamed on the Watch School Board Meetings Live web page, and available on Xfinity Comcast Cable Channel 70 and Verizon FiOS Channel 41. You may also provide comments on the Elementary Boundary Proposal in any of the following ways:
- Use the online form https://www.apsva.us/submit-your-comment-for-public-hearing-on-the-elementary-boundary-proposal/ to submit your Public Hearing comments.
- Leave a voicemail message at 703-228-6015 with your name, phone number and comments. Be sure to state that you would like your comments entered into the Public Hearing record. Your comments will be transcribed and shared with the Board.
- Send an email to School.Board@apsva.us with the subject line “Proposed 2020 Elementary Boundaries Public Hearing comments.
Comments submitted through any of the ways above will be added to the Public Hearing record and are subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. All Public Hearing comments received via email or through the online form received by 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 will be made available to the Board prior to the Public Hearing.
