Freshman Parker Chick Makes Wakefield Wrestling History

Wakefield High School freshman Parker Chick made school history this season by becoming the first freshman ever to place at the VHSL State Wrestling Championships. Competing in the 106-pound weight class, Chick finished the season with an impressive 40–7 record and 25 pins. He placed second at Districts, finished third at Regionals and earned sixth place at the state tournament. Chick also captured third place at the NOVA Classic, went undefeated at the Capitol Duals and placed fifth at the Joe Verciglio Tournament. Off the mat, the former Kenmore Middle School standout maintains a 4.0 GPA and continues to earn Honor Roll recognition.
