sign language honorsOn the evening of Feb. 2, parents, family and friends came to celebrate the successes  W-L, Yorktown, Wakefield, and H-B Woodlawn students as they entered the American Sign Language Honor Society and were awarded an ASLHS Certificate. Students celebrated with flowers, food, and cake!  APS ASLHS Sponsors include Michelle Letts, Shanna Sorrells, Elayne Fife, and Michelle Banks.


On Jan. 20, a team of 24 cadets from the Career Center’s VA-821 won the five hour Golden Boot Drill Competition in Woodbridge.The Career Center drill teams were first in the four main events: Color Guard, Armed Regulation, Unarmed Regulation and Inspection. The competition was challenging with Air Force JROTC units from Fairfax and Prince William County high schools. Additionally, the top overall cadet in the KnockOut competition was Arlington’s Cadet Damion Colgrove. The Golden Boot has now stayed in Arlington for the last five years, as the Career Center has won the last three competitions held during this period.
