Snapshots Visits Hoffman-Boston’s STEM Kickoff In this episode of Snapshots, Superintendent Dr. Pat Murphy attends the Hoffman-Boston Elementary School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiative kick-off. Former astronaut and Associate Administrator for Education at NASA Leland Melvin helped kick-off the STEM initiative during an assembly last week. Melvin spoke about the importance of STEM, getting good grades and living your dreams. After the assembly, Melvin visited several Hoffman-Boston classrooms where students shared design briefs for their engineering projects. “APS Snapshots” is a three-to-five minute weekly cable program highlighting student, teacher or school achievements, or featuring important, up-to-date information on a variety of topics. Snapshots airs at the following times: Mondays at 10:30 p.m.; Tuesdays at 7 and 10:30 p.m.; Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7 and 10:30 p.m. (after School Board Meetings); Fridays at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.; and Saturdays at 2 p.m. Snapshots may also run at additional times as scheduling allows.
