Snapshots Visits With the Washington-Lee Best Buddies In this episode of Snapshots, Superintendent Dr. Pat Murphy talks with student members of the Washington-Lee Best Buddies Program at a special event last week. GLEE star Lauren Potter and Best Buddies founder Anthony Shriver visited with the school’s chapter on Friday. Washington-Lee’s Best Buddies sponsored a joint event with the football team that included a meal and a scrimmage between the team and chapter. Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are more than 1,500 middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. “APS Snapshots” is a three-to-five minute weekly cable program highlighting student, teacher or school achievements, or featuring important, up-to-date information on a variety of topics. You can see “APS Snapshots” on Comcast Cable Channel 70 and Verizon FiOS Channel 41. Snapshots airs at the following times: Mondays at 10:30 p.m.; Tuesdays at 7 and 10:30 p.m.; Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7 and 10:30 p.m. (after School Board Meetings); Fridays at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.; and Saturdays at 2 p.m. Snapshots may also run at additional times as scheduling allows.
