Washington-Liberty High School Student Wins USA Fencing National Championship

Arlington Public Schools (APS) proudly celebrates Washington-Liberty High School rising senior Solomon Brosnan, who recently won the 2026 USA Fencing Division III Men’s Épée National Championship at the USA Fencing Summer Nationals.

Representing both Washington-Liberty High School and Nova Fencing and Archery Club, Solomon earned the national title through exceptional skill, determination and dedication.

Remarkably, he has been fencing for just three years, making this his first national championship.Success at the national level requires countless hours of training, discipline and perseverance.

Solomon’s achievement reflects the commitment to excellence that APS students demonstrate as they pursue their passions both inside and outside the classroom.

“Solomon’s accomplishment is an inspiring example of what can be achieved through hard work,determination and a willingness to pursue ambitious goals,” said APS Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán. “To earn a national championship after only three years in the sport is truly remarkable. We are incredibly proud of Solomon for representing Washington-Liberty High School and Arlington Public Schools with excellence on the national stage, and we look forward to cheering him on as he continues his journey.”

As he enters his senior year at Washington-Liberty High School, Solomon plans to continue competing nationally, pursue collegiate fencing and work toward earning a spot on the USA National Team.

APS congratulates Solomon on this outstanding accomplishment and wishes him continued success both in the classroom and on the fencing strip. His achievement serves as an inspiration to students across the APS community, demonstrating what is possible through perseverance,dedication and a commitment to excellence.
