School Health Advisory Board

The School Health Advisory Board is encourage by the Virginia General Assembly and is organized to advise school divisions about the development and implementation of school health programs, including health instruction, the school environment and health services. The School Board seeks the advice of community members through a wide range of advisory committees and councils. These advisory committees and councils are appointed by the School Board, advise the School Board and, when appropriate, make recommendations on issues or policies related to the successful operation of the school system. For more information on how to apply for a committee, visit the APS Website.

Food Allergy Guidelines

During the 2016-17 school year, the School Health Advisory Board worked to develop Food Allergy Guidelines to provide guidance on prevention and response to severe allergies.  The guidelines can be found on the School Health Advisory Board webpage.
