Arlington Public Schools keeps in touch with parents and the community through our email, voicemail and text messaging system, APS School Talk. This service is provided through BlackBoard’s “Connect5” platform.
Parents are automatically signed up for School Talk as soon as you register your student for school, either online or by filling out the forms in your First Day Packet. You can use the new ParentVUE to confirm that your contact information is correct. (Get more information about ParentVUE here.)
Parents who wish to receive additional information for schools they don’t have students in, or to sign up for special interest lists, should follow the directions below for community members. You will need to create a separate account in the MyConnect portal in order to receive these additional notifications.
If you are not a parent/guardian of an APS student, but would still like to receive information about APS, neighborhood schools and various programs, you can sign up for APS School Talk by visiting the “MyConnect” portal. You will be able to create an account for yourself and sign up to receive information on whatever schools or special interest lists you choose.
Note: Once you’ve created your account, in the MyConnect Portal you must ALSO enter your contact information using the drop-down menu in the upper right corner, AND click on Subscriptions to indicate what school(s) you want information from, and what messages to receive.
