School Health Services

Arlington Public Schools health services are provided by the School Health Bureau of the Health Services Division of the Arlington County Department of Human Services. The mission of the School Health Bureau is to provide students and their families with preventive and early intervention services that enable the student to learn to the best of his or her potential.

Public health nurses provide a range of health services in the schools and community for school age children and their families. They are assigned 1-3 schools. Services include immunizations, screening and referrals, care coordination, home visits, health education and promotion, and consultation.
