Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Summer Skills Boost program?
Summer Skills Boost is an optional program for students registered between April 6 – May 1, 2026. It is open to APS families with currently enrolled students in 2nd through 8th grade. It is a self-paced, virtual program using Edmentum’s Exact Path. Edmentum’s Exact Path is designed to help students master essential skills by determining where they are academically and identifying strengths and weaknesses for each student.
What is the time commitment for this program?
The program is available during the summer school window of July 6 – July 31, 2026. Regular participation is recommended, but not required. Students can work at their own pace.
How will my child access the program?
Students enrolled in Summer Skills Boost will take their APS-issued iPad with them over the summer. They will log into MyAccess using their APS credentials. Grade 2 students will use their QR code, and students in Grades 3-8 will use their student ID and password.
Can my child access the program while outside of the U.S.?
No. The APS network (MyAccess) cannot be accessed outside of the United States. Students may only use this program while in the United States.
How will the program create an individualized learning path for my child?
Exact Path delivers a personalized learning path for students based on their MAP Growth scores or an Exact Path diagnostic assessment (depending on the grade level of the student). For grade 2 students, their end of year data for MAP Growth Math will be used and they will need to take a diagnostic assessment in reading. For students in grades 3-8, their end of the year data for MAP Growth Math and MAP Growth Reading will be used. If students took MAP Growth for Algebra I, they will need to take a diagnostic in math. Exact Path is adaptive and will adjust real time to a student’s strengths and areas of growth. Since the learning is personalized, it will go above and below grade level instruction as appropriate and based on your student’s performance.
