January Partner of the Month – Amazon Brings Real-World Finance and Business to APS Students
APS is proud to highlight Amazon’s Finance and Global Business Services team for their partnership in expanding career exploration for students.
- Through this team, 60 students from across APS high schools and programs participate in a two-year work-based learning and mentorship experience focused on finance and business.
- During the school year, Amazon’s Finance and Global Business Services Team brings in leaders from around the globe for Class Chats, where students learn about various topics related to international business and finance.
- This team also supports a two-year apprenticeship program for future business and finance professionals.
We appreciate everything Amazon is doing to support our students, ensuring they are industry-ready.

Our November 2025 Partner of the Month is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. They are a dedicated group of women who continuously make a positive impact on the Gunston Middle School community.
October Volunteer of the Month: Dr. Aizenman
A retired astrophysicist, Dr. A leads "Q&A with Dr. A" lunch sessions three times a week, engaging groups of students from kindergarten through fifth grade in informal science discussions.
