If you are unable to find a copy of your deed, a copy can be obtained from the Arlington County Circuit Court Land Records Division. There are public, self-service kiosks in that office that can be used to find and print a copy of the deed for your property. The address is 1425 N. Court House Rd, Arlington, VA 22201, suite 6200. The hours are 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Note: cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the Courthouse.
It is possible for the Land Records office to provide a copy of your deed electronically. However, please expect a significant delay in responding to requests for deed copies as the Land Records office is undergoing a system migration. It is best to find a copy of your deed in your current files. As a last resort, a request can be made to the Land Records office but a response time cannot be guaranteed. To request a copy of your deed from the Circuit Court Land Records office, please complete the following steps:
- Send an email to Landrec@arlingtonva.us
- Place “Deed Request for School Registration” in the subject line
- In the body, include:
- Your request for a copy of your deed
- One owner’s name
- The street address, including any unit number
The Land Records Division will email you a copy of your deed. Expect it may take up to two weeks to respond.
