Arlington Public Schools (APS) welcomes partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and community organizations to support student learning and development. In return, your organization gains opportunities to meet community engagement goals and build goodwill throughout Arlington.

Who is a Partner?

A business, non-profit, or other organization collaborating with a school or multiple schools to provide programs or services that support schools and contribute to student learning and development. Partner organizations have a signed agreement with APS.

Interested in becoming a work-based learning or school partner? Please fill out our Partnership Interest Form, and a member of our team will contact you within three business days. Alternatively, you can send an email to [email protected] directly. Our partnership team includes:

Partners help students make meaningful connections between their education, career interests, and real-world skills. Whether you’re offering time, space, or expertise, your support can leave a lasting impact.

Ways to Partner 

There are many flexible, high-impact ways to support APS students:

  • Sponsor an after-school club
  • Provide guest speakers
  • Offer tutoring or mentoring
  • Donate materials or supplies
  • Sponsor educational field trips
  • Host job shadowing or internships
  • Offer virtual or in-person workplace tours
  • Share incentives to encourage student success
  • Display student work or promote school events
  • Provide space for school trainings, meetings, or events

What is Work-Based Learning

A school-coordinated workplace experience related to students’ career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.

What is the process to become a partner?

If you are interested in partnering with Arlington Public Schools:

  1. Submit Request: Fill out our Partnership Interest Form.
  2. Review and Connect: The APS Partnerships Team will review and connect within five business days.
  3. Collaborate: Develop partnership plan with prospective partner, school and/or department leadership.
  4. Formalize and Activate: Complete an APS Partnership Agreement Form, and activate the partnership.
  5. Assess: Conduct regular check-ins and assessment to ensure mutually beneficial relationship.
