APS takes pride in recognizing outstanding individuals who go above and beyond to support our students, staff and school community. The APS All Stars for October 2024 demonstrate exceptional dedication, creativity and commitment in their respective roles. Let’s celebrate the following honorees and their contributions!

Amy Flynn – Williamsburg Middle School

Ms. Flynn is a compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated special education leader who excels in co-teaching and supporting students with significant learning needs. Known for her creative teaching style, warmth and sense of humor, she brings out the best in every student while guiding staff with her expertise. Williamsburg is fortunate to have such a thoughtful and committed educator.

Dana Crepeau – Ashlawn Elementary School

Ms. Crepeau is an inspiring and calm English Language teacher whose dedication ensures every student feels valued and encouraged to thrive. Her tailored instruction, patience and passion make learning English engaging for students with diverse needs. She sets high standards and fosters an inclusive environment, making her an essential part of the Ashlawn community.

Catherine Han – Barrett Elementary School

Principal Han is a spirited, goal-oriented leader who brings kindness and clarity to Barrett’s community. She takes the time to connect personally with students and families, fostering a culture of acceptance and excellence. Her dedication to improving school standards and effective communication makes her a true superstar in the Barrett community.

Karina Valdez – Montessori Public School

Karina Valdez

Ms. Valdez is a reliable, precise and driven professional who seamlessly stepped into two critical roles—registrar and finance—under challenging circumstances. She handled both new and old responsibilities with incredible dedication, ensuring smooth operations. Ms. Valdez’s commitment and expertise make her an indispensable part of the Montessori team.

Elisabeth Lua – Syphax Education Center

Ms. Lua, FACE Coordinator in the Department of School and Community Relations, has integrated family engagement into the department with passion and strategic insight. Her background as a teacher enhances her ability to connect with families and lead initiatives. She’s a collaborative force presenting at national conferences and local meetings and was recently honored with the 40 Under 40 Award. Her contributions exemplify what it means to be an APS All Star.
