Swanson Art Displayed At National Airport

Swanson’s student artwork is on display in National Airport’s historic Terminal 1. The Youth Art Walk at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport brings the creativity and talent of local students to life, turning airport spaces into inspiring galleries. The art walk showcases more than 150 pieces of student art from 18 schools across the region. Nearly 100,000 passengers will see the student art as they walk through the terminal. Through this partnership, The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) provides young artists with a unique opportunity to showcase their work to travelers from around the world.

The students were recognized by VP and Airport Manager Terry Liercke and Tanisha Lewis, Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Community Engagement, at a reception and ceremony on April 1. Following the ceremony, students and their families had the chance to see the displayed artwork. Art teacher Maria Burke was also recognized as one of the Art Walk’s curators.

In addition to being on display in the terminal, the artwork is also featured in an online gallery. The artwork will remain on display for one year. To learn more about the Youth Art Walk, visit the MWAA website.
