APS Future Teacher Signing Day
On Thursday, May 15, APS held the second annual APS Future Teacher Signing Day at the Arlington Career Center to celebrate the achievements of students who will join APS as teachers upon graduation from college. Twelve students from our Teachers for Tomorrow and Early Childhood Programs will join APS after college
The contract with APS guarantees that upon graduation, students will have teaching position roles at APS. The students have a range of interests in education, from Special Education and Elementary to the Arts and Secondary Programs.
“Education is one of the few professions where you can truly make a difference and a positive impact, one student at a time,” said Dr. Francisco Durán, Superintendent. “I am proud of you for choosing this path to become an educator who will serve Arlington in the future and help open doors for hundreds of future students.”
Arlington Public Schools and Arlington County will participate in a full-scale emergency response exercise on Fri, Jan. 30, from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Carlin Springs Elementary School and Wakefield High School.
