29 APS Teachers Earned or Maintained Their National Board Certification

National Board Certified TeachersArlington Public Schools recognizes 29 teachers, counselors, or librarians who have achieved or maintained their National Board Certification. National Board Certification is the gold standard of education excellence and is the most respected professional certification available in education. The certification offers numerous benefits to educators, students, and schools. It was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished educators and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

Arlington Public Schools recognizes National Board Certification as part of its Career Advancement Program and supports those who voluntarily work toward this highly accomplished endeavor. The Office of Professional Learning facilitates the five levels of APS support, which align with the five-pointed gold star, representing the gold standard of teaching. Currently, there are over 200 NBCTs in APS.
