ALAS Principal and Student of the Year

The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) has named Carlos Ramirez, principal of Randolph Elementary, as 2024 Principal of the Year for his servant leadership style and dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive environment; and Dafnee Alexandra Marquez Padilla, a student at the English Learner Institute at the Arlington Career Center, has been named the 2024 Student of the Year. Originally from El Salvador, Dafnee arrived in the U.S. two years ago and is pursuing dual enrollment classes to earn her General Studies Diploma from Northern Virginia Community College alongside her high school diploma, reflecting her ambitious spirit and dedication to her future career in aviation.
