APS Celebrates RED Ribbon Week, Oct. 23-30

Red Ribbon Week is an annual Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) initiative that occurs every October. This year, Red Ribbon Week is recognized Oct. 23-30, with the theme, “Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free.”

  • This serves as a positive reminder that we are empowered to shape the communities around us through positivity, bravery and strength.
  • Substance Abuse Counselors and School Counselors will lead engaging activities that promote a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
  • Students can participate in fun activities during lunch, or win prizes by signing a red ribbon pledge, participating in theme days or trivia or entering a poster or door decorating contest.

APS is partnering with the Arlington Addiction Recovery Initiative (AARI) to provide free boxes of Naloxone/Narcan to high school families during school drop-off.
