Bullying and Cyberbullying Reminders and Reporting

APS is deeply committed to creating a safe and positive school environment that is free of all forms of bullying and harassment, including on social media and electronic devices. As we begin a new school year, APS is providing information and reporting tools to our students and families to help prevent an issue that affects everyone: bullying and cyberbullying.

Through school-wide positive behavior approaches, students receive guidance on how to use technology responsibly, behave respectfully and resolve conflicts in positive ways. APS is also sharing reminders with students in September, specific to cyberbullying awareness and prevention. We encourage families to engage in these conversations at home as well.

What is Cyberbulling?
Cyberbullying includes actions such as sending threatening or mean messages, spreading rumors online, sharing embarrassing photos or videos, and creating fake profiles to hurt others. These actions are harmful and have no place in our schools. While the new cell phone procedures will assist with decreasing social media use during school, students are reminded to stay positive with their postings when they are not in school too.

How to Report Bullying and Cyberbullying
If you witness or experience any form of bullying including cyberbullying, please speak up and report it to a trusted adult or school administrator. We are here to support you and take the necessary actions to address these issues. Students and families can submit an anonymous reporting form online and may also report any bullying concerns at [email protected].

By working together and setting a positive example, we can make our school the best learning environment for everyone. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are committed to making this school year a safe and productive one for all.
