Learning Paths

Learning paths are personalized learning plans made just for you. Your learning paths have been created from your NWEA assessment. (If you missed the NWEA MAP Growth test, you will take the Exact Path Diagnostic). You will have two learning paths. One for Reading and one for Math. Everyone’s learning path is different. You should not see a learning path for Language Arts.  If you do, you are not required to work on it. We are going to focus on reading and math this summer.

Learning Paths contain activities for you to complete. You practice what you learn and improve your skills. You must complete each activity to move to the next one.

This video mentions working with a teacher, but the experience is the same if you are working on Exact Path at home.

Find Your Learning Paths

This is the screen you see when you log in.

The Reading and Math buttons take you to your learning paths. You can also get to them by selecting the Learning Path button from the menu on the left. Again, if you see Language Arts, please ignore it. We are going to focus on reading and math this summer.

This an example of one skill on a Math learning path. The section at the top tells you what skill you will be learning.

Select the Start button to begin the activity. Complete all the activities that are available to you to unlock the progress check.

What Activities Look Like

Each activity will look a little different. Here are some examples:

Lessons

Lessons come first. They teach you something new.

Press Start or Play to begin the lesson. As part of the lesson, you will answer some questions to check your understanding.

An Exact Path lesson screen has a progress bar at the bottom to start or play the lesson.

Practices

Practices come next. They start with a reminder of what you learned in the lesson. Then you will answer some questions to practice what you are learning. Pay close attention to what the question is asking you to do. You can press the speaker buttons if you need to hear the question or answers again. Select the done button to submit your answers.

Score 80% or higher to earn a trophy! Then you can move on to the next skill in your learning path.

An example progress check shows a question in the center of the screen with a place to record an answer and choose "reset" or "next"

Navigating

You can return to your learning path at the end of each activity or any time by selecting the Learning Path button in the top right corner.

Rewards

You earn trophies by mastering skills in your learning paths.

Your goal is to earn 2 trophies per week in Math and 2 trophies per week in Reading!

For a quick view of your trophies, see the trophy count that is visible at the top of the screen on any page (except the home screen). Find the trophies you’ve earned in the my Rewards area. Rewards that you earned and are practicing for are shown here.

Note that the Latest Earned section may show trophies that have been earned during summer and the school year.

The top of the Exact Path screen shows a trophy counter for the number of trophies earned that week.

Time on Task

To see how long you have been working on your learning paths this week, select the Clock icon from the menu.

The pop up tells you how much time you have spent in each of your subjects.

You should spend 30 minutes per day in Math and 30 minutes per day in Reading, Monday – Friday. This is a total of 1 hour per day and 5 hours per week.

The navigation buttons at the top of the Exact Path 3-5 screen with a box around the clock icon.

A window opens that reads "This Weeks Time on Task - Learning Path Math: 26 mins; Reading: 16 mins"
