School Board Accepting Applications for School Board Advisory Councils for the 2025-26 School Year

The School Board is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 school year and invites community members, including parents/guardians, students, staff, subject-matter experts, and other interested individuals, to apply to serve on a School Board advisory group.

These advisory groups offer important input and feedback to the School Board and APS administrators on topics such as instructional programs, student support services, facilities, and overall operations across Arlington Public Schools. Current advisory groups include:

Advisory Council on Teaching & Learning (ACTL):

  • Advanced Academics & Talent Development Advisory Committee
  • Advisory Committee on English Learners
  • Arts Advisory Committee
  • Career, Technical, and Adult Education Advisory Committee
  • Dual-Language Immersion Subcommittee (under the Advisory Committee on English Learners)
  • Educational Technology Advisory Committee
  • English Language Arts Advisory Committee
  • Mathematics Advisory Committee
  • Science Advisory Committee
  • Social Studies Advisory Committee
  • Student Services Advisory Committee
  • World Languages Advisory Committee

Additional Advisory Groups:

  • Arlington Special Education Advisory Committee (ASEAC)
  • Budget Advisory Council (BAC)
  • Facilities Advisory Council (FAC)
  • School Health Advisory Board (SHAB)
